About the School

Is your child not feeling challenged at school? We have an exciting opportunity that focuses on the needs of academically gifted students in grades 5K-8!  The Leonardo da Vinci School for Gifted Learners provides the appropriate level of challenge for academically gifted students in a rigorous, student-centered and diverse learning environment that prepares students to be world leaders.

Academic clustering and cross-curricular units are used to meet the unique academic, social and emotional needs of gifted students.  Students make global connections as they study Spanish and Chinese.

Why a school for gifted learners?  Watch the video below from 2012 to learn why our school was created as SWIAS (School Within A School) initially located in Langlade Elementary School.  Our first year at Langlade Elementary we had 71 students in 2nd - 6th grade.  For the 2016-17 school year we had over 350 students in 5K - 8th grade.

Since this video was made, the assessment process has changed.  Students who are applying to enroll at Leonardo da Vinci participate in the Naglieri (all grades) and STAR (Grades 1st - 7th) assessments.
