About the School

Is your child not feeling challenged at school? We have an exciting opportunity that focuses on the needs of academically gifted students in grades 5K-8!  The Leonardo da Vinci School for Gifted Learners provides the appropriate level of challenge for academically gifted students in a rigorous, student-centered and diverse learning environment that prepares students to be world leaders.

Academic clustering and cross-curricular units are used to meet the unique academic, social and emotional needs of gifted students.  Students make global connections as they study Spanish and Chinese.

Why a school for gifted learners?  Watch the video below from 2012 to learn why our school was created as SWIAS (School Within A School) initially located in Langlade Elementary School.  During our first year at Langlade Elementary 71 students in grades 2nd - 6th were enrolled in our program.  Enrollment for the 2018-19 school year is projected at 390 students in grades 5K - 8th.

Since this video was made, the assessment process has changed.  Students who are applying to enroll at Leonardo da Vinci participate in the Naglieri (all grades) and STAR (Grades 1st - 7th) assessments.
