Leonardo da Vinci School for Gifted Learners provides the appropriate level of challenge for academically gifted students in a rigorous, student-centered and diverse learning environment.
Enrollment Details
Leonardo da Vinci School for Gifted Learners serves academically gifted learners in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. All students seeking enrollment must complete an assessment to determine whether da Vinci is the best fit for their learning. Assessment results will be emailed to families within two weeks of the assessment date, however, please be aware that the assessment results are not indicative of enrollment at da Vinci, they are a pre-requisite for enrollment. In June, a letter will be sent out notifying families if their student has been accepted into da Vinci, placed on a waiting list, or declined.
The first assessment day is scheduled for February 1, 2025 for students who reside within the Green Bay Area Public Schools District. To request that your child be assessed for enrollment, please review the steps below:
1) Please complete the Assessment Request Form. This form is available starting November 25, 2024 at 10:00 am and will close on January 28, 2025 at 12:00 pm. It is very important that the information on this form is accurate to ensure that your child receives the correct assessment. You will receive an email from eafieldhammer@gbaps.org confirming that your form has been received within 3 business days. If you need to make any changes to your submission, please respond to that email. Do not submit multiple forms for the same child.
2) Please complete the Intra District Transfer Application (linked below). This form must be completed by January 31, 2025 at 4:00 pm. If this form is not completed, we will not be able to assess your student on February 1st. You will receive an email from eafieldhammer@gbaps.org reminding you to complete this form prior to its due date.
3) Assessment scheduling will begin the week of January 20, 2025. You will receive an email from eafieldhammer@gbaps.org with your child's assessment time. Assessments will all be taken at da Vinci and administered by a staff member. Your child does not need to prepare for the assessment or bring any materials aside from a water bottle if they would like one. If your younger student has never sat for an assessment before, it may be helpful to practice test taking.
The second assessment day is scheduled for May 3, 2025 for all students. More details regarding this assessment date will be updated after the first assessment date.
Transfer Process Details
If the primary residence of the student is within the Green Bay Area Public School District, an Intra District Transfer Application will need to be completed through Central Registration. The priority period for this application opens January 2, 2025 at 8:00 am and closes January 31, 2025 at 4:00 pm. This application must be completed prior to the assessment date on February 1st, 2025.
If the primary residence of the student is outside of the Green Bay Area Public School District, an Open Enrollment Application will need to be completed through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The window has now closed and will reopen on February 3, 2025 at midnight.
Placement Testing
We will be holding Placement Testing for all newly admitted da Vinci students in June 2025. The Placement Testing guides us in placing students in the appropriate level classes for the 2025-26 school year. The date has not yet been determined.
